Surrey Air Ambulance welcomed a new crew member yesterday in the form of 96.4 Eagle radio presenter Kim Robson.
Kim was invited to take part in a training exercise and experience a day in the life of the Air Ambulance crew After a short but intense training course in operating a monitor; she was able to attach the monitor to the ‘mock’ patient to enable to feed back vital information on the patients condition to the Doctors.
Kim Robson, presenter on 96.4 Eagle radio had this to say, “When the idea for a Lovin’ Your Work visit to Surrey Air Ambulance came about I was really excited, at Eagle Radio we have worked with the Surrey Air Ambulance for many years, but I myself hadn’t had such an insight into the work they do. To be a part of an actual training exercise and see how quickly and efficiently they work together as a team was fantastic. Its one of the best Lovin’ Your Work visits I have ever done!
Regular training is part of the Air Ambulances ‘Clinical Governance’. The Doctors and Paramedics who fly on the Air Ambulance carry out life saving procedures at the scene of an incident, saving time and lives!
