
Following 23 years in the Army I joined the Air
Ambulance in 1999 becoming Chief Pilot in the year 2000. The service has since
grown and a second helicopter is now based at
I work closely
with the Operations Director,
I have been flying for some 25 years and
have travelled all over the world in my previous career which has led to some
varied flight experiences, in variety of testing environments. I have also
worked as a helicopter instructor and have experience in the police helicopter
world.

I joined the Ambulance Service in June 2000, as an ambulance technician and in May 2003 I was seconded to the Air Ambulance.
In my 4 years I have seen the service change & progress dramatically with fantastic specialist equipment, doctors & the new procedures that we are now able to perform. I feel very privileged to have been part of these changes.
In my spare time I am an active member of the St John Ambulance youth department, and county adventure team, training 15- 18 year olds first aid, CPR, adventurous activities, map craft and general life skills.
I also feel very humbled to have met some of the multitude of loyal, hard working fundraisers who have helped keep the trust running for so many years.

I
joined the Ambulance Service in 1984 and qualified as a Paramedic in
1987. I have held posts in training & development, control room
management, the Gatwick Airport responder unit and clinical teams.
I have also been selected for training as a Critical Care Paramedic.

I joined the Ambulance Service in 1992 and have been a paramedic for 12 years and a Clinical Team Leader for the last 4 years. Before joining the Ambulance Service I qualified as a Registered General Nurse and specialised in Accident & Emergency.
I live in Newick, East Sussex with my wife and twin daughters. I am very proud to work with such a professional team, both within the HEMS unit and the charity. I am constantly amazed at the generosity of the public and the regard they have for the Air Ambulance Service.

I have been working in the emergency services for 12

role and I work with a great team. I have also been selected for the Critical
Care Paramedic programme.
I enjoy the outdoors, and spend days off trying to
keep up with my children.

I have been working as a Paramedic at Medway Ambulance Station since 1997 and joined the Kent Air Ambulance crew in November 2004.
I feel very privileged to have been selected to work onboard the Air Ambulance and am enjoying serving the people of Kent.
I am 31 years old I live in Medway with my wife Kathy and dog, Sam
I joined the London Ambulance Service in 1996 as an Ambulance
Technician. I qualified as a Paramedic in 1999 and transferred to the Kent Ambulance Service in 2001. Before being selected to join the Critical Care
Paramedic (CCP) program, I was a Paramedic Team Leader at Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
As part of my CCP development, I have been very fortunate to be seconded to the crew of the Air Ambulance. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside the specialist doctors and as a result, increase my ability to care for the critically ill and injured patients.
Like my colleagues, I am also aware of the hard work that goes into fundraising for the charity and I am looking forward to being able to assist with this essential function and promote the vital role of the Air Ambulance.
I live in Cranbrook, Kent with my wife Sarah, son Harry and our dog and cat.

Apart from my time spent away at university where I
studied law, I have lived in this area all my life and feel exceptionally proud
to work for the Air Ambulance Trust.
I started my clinical career in 1996 with Kent
Ambulance Service and after qualifying as a paramedic worked operationally for
many happy years. I was fortunate to be
able to progress into clinical training, education and management culminating
with my appointment as Executive Officer of the South East Coast Ambulance
Service.
I have been with the Air Ambulance since 2007 where I
am one of the two Clinical Managers for the Air Ambulances covering

Over the past 15 years I have flown as an instructor and commercial pilot, spending 5 years flying a Boeing 737. My last job role was flying a helicopter camera ship for BBC News.

I retired from the Armed Forces after a career of more than 23 years flying and service around the world and I joined the Air Ambulance team in December 2007.
It is a privilege to be working with such a dedicated, friendly and professional team, I look forward to assisting with the good work that actually makes a difference to the people of South East, England while doing what I enjoy most; flying.

Air Ambulance and increase my pre-hospital experience.

Derek’s background is in Emergency Medicine and he did his specialist training in North East London.
He has a special interest in burns, trauma and critical care. His wife is a specialist in Urology.

I started working with the Air Ambulance in April this
year. I am very privileged to be one of just five Critical Care Paramedics
(CCP’s) selected by the South East Coast Ambulance service to pioneer this exciting
new initiative in pre-hospital care with the Helicopter Emergency Medical
Service based at Marden.

I am originally from Zimbabwe and qualified in South Africa, working in accident & emergency and anaesthetics in Durban.
I moved to the UK in 2006 and joined Staffordshire Ambulance Service.
I have worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross Flying Doctors and Air Mercy Service in South Africa and my long term goal is to specialise as a trauma surgeon.

I
qualified from Birmingham University in 1998 and have spent the last 4
years living in Far North Queensland, Australia and undertaking
Emergency Medicine training with the Australasian College of Emergency
Medicine.
I have also flown with both the Royal Flying Doctor
Service of Australia and the Queensland Rescue Helicopter as well as
working in numerous hospitals.

I joined the ambulance
service in 1989 and qualified as a paramedic
in 1993. I have been fortunate in having had two previous secondments to the
air ambulance prior to being selected for the critical care paramedic program
and coming back for a third time.
I consider it a privilege to work with such a hard working and professional team backed up by so many dedicated volunteers. In my spare time I enjoy gliding as a member of a small club near Dover and playing music.

I
worked as an electrician in Chatham Dockyard before training as a
Registered Nurse in 1982 at Medway Hospital, Gillingham. I have worked
on the Air Ambulance for 8 years - becoming a Registered Paramedic in
2005. Working here is simply the best job I ever had and I work with a
fantastic team.
I am also Clinical Manager for the two Air Ambulance’s covering Kent, Surrey & Sussex.
I have lived in Maidstone for 12 years with my wife and three children.

I became a
pilot 17 years ago having previously been in Telecommunications and Motorcycle
racing.
Outside work my interests include anything mechanical especially motorcycles and I have a small collection of old bangers that keep me busy.

Fiona is a Specialist Registrar in Anaesthetics and joins us
